Ijede LCDA Welcomes First Babies In 2026

Hon. Femi Kabir, Vice Chairman, Ijde LCDA, Hon. Basirat Kehinde, Council Leader, Ijede LCDA Legislative Arm and officials of the Department of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), with Dr. Oni, Deputy Medical Director representing the Managing Director/CEO, Dr. Olumuyiwa Balogun-Oluwa and others, presenting gift items to the first baby of the year 2026 at the General Hospital Ijede on January 1, 2026.

The Chairman, Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Ikorodu Division, Lagos State, Southwest, Nigeria, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo -Alogba, has welcome first babies in Imota in 2026.

The first baby of the year, a baby girl, was delivered by Mrs. Olabisi Kayode at 12:29 a.m.

According to Dr. Oni, Deputy Medical Director representing the Managing Director/CEO, Dr. Olumuyiwa Balogun-Oluwa, three babies were delivered as at the time of the visit to the General Hospital Ijede, for the annual gift presentation.

The Chairman was represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Femi Kabir and officials of the Department of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), to celebrate and welcome the first babies of 2026.

Dr. Oni, Deputy Medical Director, also said that the first baby was followed by the delivery of another baby girl by Mrs. Alabi, and a baby boy by Mrs. Kofowora Ogunbowale.

Hon. Femi Kabir, described the arrival of the newborns as an exciting beginning for the New Year 2026.

The delegation presented cash gifts and baby items to the parents of the newborns, as well as to other needy and elderly patients at the hospital.

Other members of the delegation included the Leader of the Legislative House, Hon. Basirat Kehinde; Council Manager, Mrs. Oluwakemi Ayodele Micheal; Hon. Saka Nurudeen; Hon. Adewale Agbabiaka; Hon. Temilade Akinyemi, Council Treasurer, and H.O.D WAPA.
